Seminole Square is a new multifamily affordable housing community located in Largo, Florida.

The development provides 96 affordable rental apartments across a garden-style community and serves households across a range of income levels.

The project is located at 2005 Seminole Boulevard on an approximately 4.8-acre site and was developed as a 100% affordable community using income averaging, with units serving households at or below 80% of Area Median Income.

Seminole Square achieved NGBS Green Building Certification, supporting the project's commitment to sustainable development.

Affordable housing development requires a careful balance between delivering quality homes and maintaining long-term affordability.

Seminole Square was designed to provide residents with high-quality apartments and community amenities while incorporating energy-efficient and sustainable features into the development. The project also needed to serve households across different income levels while maintaining a consistent standard of quality throughout the community.

Community Development Reimagined provided sustainability consulting and led the project's NGBS Green Certification process. CDR worked with the project team to support the integration of sustainable strategies and guide the project through the requirements of the NGBS Green certification program.

CDR's role included coordinating certification requirements and documentation and supporting the project team throughout the certification process. The project successfully achieved NGBS Green Building Certification.

Seminole Square incorporates sustainability-focused features designed to support efficient and comfortable living.

The apartments include energy-efficient appliances and bathroom fixtures, along with high-quality finishes throughout the community.

The project also includes a multi-purpose community room, library, and technology lab, creating shared spaces that support resident programs, activities, learning, and connection.

The combination of building efficiency and resident-focused amenities reflects a broader approach to sustainable housing, one that considers both the performance of the building and the quality of the environment it provides for residents.

Seminole Square is a 100% affordable development using income averaging, with units serving households at different income levels. According to Pinellas County documentation, 34 units are designated for households at or below 30% AMI, 11 units at or below 60% AMI, and 51 units at or below 80% AMI.

Importantly, the project was designed so that all residents benefit from the same high-quality standard of finishes and features, regardless of income level. This approach demonstrates how affordability and quality can be addressed together.
