ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION

Energy Star is a widely recognized energy performance certification administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy. It identifies buildings (and products) that meet stringent energy efficiency criteria, reducing operating costs and emissions.

Buildings that achieve ENERGY STAR certification typically perform significantly better in energy use, lowering utility expenses and strengthening sustainability credentials. Certified buildings also often enjoy enhanced market appeal and operational savings.

Through energy benchmarking and performance analysis, a building’s energy use is compared to national data. If it meets EPA’s defined thresholds, the project earns the ENERGY STAR label for that year. Certification must be renewed annually to reflect ongoing performance.
